Astrology Watch: Partial Eclipse of the Moon

Let's ignore all those quantum physicists and astronomers for a moment and have a look at what the mythological interpreters of the stars are saying.  Astrologers are pretty excited about a partial lunar eclipse  of the full moon on June 26 in Capricorn.  The Wiki entry on the eclipse is here.  Everyone from NASA to the Lexington Vampire Examiner are reporting on it. Twelve major American cities will be hosting special events for Twilight fans.  Astrologer Susan Miller has announced that this lunar eclipse is the most important eclipse, astrologically speaking, in 500 years.

Miller comments on the eclipse as follows: "Eclipses aren't like any other phenomenon in astrology. They strike quickly and in unusual ways. Often the catalyst to change is triggered by an outside event that has nothing to do with you or anything you did, but that will come in and change certain elements in your life anyway. I feel it's the universe's way to keep us on our toes and flexible. Also, eclipses look for broken or outdated situations to sweep away to help you make room for the new. Some eclipses are shocking or jarring and others are harbingers of good news. The coming June 26 eclipse will have an especially strong impact because Uranus will be in sharp angle to the full moon eclipse and Sun. Also, Saturn will oppose Uranus and Jupiter, while Pluto will conjoin the full moon and argue with the other planets. All will square off at 90 degrees to each other, or stare at one another at 180 degrees, forming a cross pattern in the sky - this is considered stressful."

Astrological headlines: Lunar Eclipse in Capricorn.

She continues: "We have not seen such an extreme eclipse in years. Actually, astrologers have gone back 500 years and we have not been able to find anything like the one that is due June 26. ... With all eclipses, something ends and something else begins. During an eclipse period, you may feel like you are walking across a bridge to a new place of the mind and heart, but with no ability to turn back to where you started. Said another way, the door of part of your old life will slam shut and lock tightly behind you as you walk over the threshold. You won't be able to go back to your old life after the eclipse, but upon reflection, you might not want to anymore."

Well, that was cheerful.  Ah, but what's this?  The G20 happens to be meeting on the same day in Toronto.  The official site of the meeting is here.  Astrologers are taking this to be a bad sign: "We are talking about a hard-core grand cross here (the sun, moon, Mercury, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto are all involved)."  According to astrologer Rob Tillett: “The common people (the Moon, Saturn) will be included to overthrow or resist their rulers (Sun, Jupiter), who will seek to control and repress them, even while offering blandishments and concessions.” All of this is building up to a solar eclipse on July 11, leading to an event on July 31 which astrologers are calling a Cardinal Climax:

"the Moon is exactly conjunct Pluto (obstruction; transformation) at the nadir of the Greenwich chart, while Saturn (karma; restriction; sorrow) is rising conjunct the ascendant, closely opposing Uranus (disruption) and Jupiter (leadership; fortune), which are setting (in Aries, another Cardinal sign). An angular Grand Cross aspect is formed, superimposed upon a Grand Trine! This is a foretaste of the complex Cardinal Climax phase that is forming in the heavens, climaxing this year on July 31, a rare occurrence indeed and one which will have powerful effects upon the world and those who dwell therein. It makes intense contacts with the US chart, the UK chart, the EC (European Community, now the European Union) chart, the Federal Reserve chart and the UN chart—not to mention the Australia chart. ... The Cardinal Climax, a once-in-a-lifetime development between 2009 and 2012 ... [will] retune ... the collective unconscious."

According to several astrological blogs and sites, the Cardinal Climax on July 31 will be the most powerful astrological event in our lifetimes.  We can expect total chaos, massive financial upheavals, apparently, with revolutionary forces rising up to meet crushing authoritarian repression that will persist until - yeah, you guessed it, 2012.  It looks like astrologers are worse than particle physicists!  Still, I'll check in on July 31 and review all their dire predictions.  If you have a rotten day today, blame the eclipse, skip the Twilight events and go home and watch the flim Moon.

  2. Thanks very much - glad you like it! Yeah, he said the world would end in 2060. I prefer to think of the end of the world as a metaphor than as an impending reality! ;)
