Photo of the Day: Saturn and Friends

This is: Saturn and two of its moons, Titan (foreground) and Prometheus (dot in the background, just above one of the rings). Hat tip: Lee Hamilton. Titan, incidentally, is larger than the planet, Mercury; it is the largest of Saturn's 62 moons.

I wondered whether I should write 'Saturn and two of his moons.' But it turns out, quite contrary to the masculine Roman depiction, that Indian Vedic astrologers have assigned genders to the planets and Saturn is, weirdly, a eunuch: "The planets are classified as males and females. Sun, Mars and Jupiter are the male planets. Moon and Venus are female planets. Saturn and [M]ercury are the eunuchs." Vedic astrologers also categorize the planets according to social caste and levels of relative morality.
