TIMES, TIME, AND HALF A TIME. A HISTORY OF THE NEW MILLENNIUM.

Comments on a cultural reality between past and future.

This blog describes Metatime in the Posthuman experience, drawn from Sir Isaac Newton's secret work on the future end of times, a tract in which he described Histories of Things to Come. His hidden papers on the occult were auctioned to two private buyers in 1936 at Sotheby's, but were not available for public research until the 1990s.

Coronavirus: Metropolitan Opera Posts Free Performances

Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin – Deborah Warner’s production with Peter Mattei and Anna Netrebko; conducted by Robin Ticciati (2017). Image Source: Classical Source.

Each night (New York time) through to the end of March, the Met is posting one free performance online to entertain people during the nCov lockdowns:
"During this extraordinary and difficult time, the Met hopes to brighten the lives of our audience members even while our stage is dark. Every day, a different encore presentation from past Live in HD seasons will be made available for free streaming, with each performance available for a period of 20 hours, beginning at 7:30PM EDT. Learn more at metopera.org/operastreams."
A huge thank you to the Met! I will be so happy to see Eugene Onegin this Sunday. In the second week of online broadcasts, 23-29 March 2020, the Met will be showing all of Wagner's major operas.

Pandemic Chats in the Darkness 5: Two Strains

Click to enlarge. Image Source: 4chan.

The thread above from 4chan features a supposed Chinese leaker explaining the meaning of the L strain (lethal) and S strain (safe) on 17 March 2020. Bear in mind that everything in this post could be lies and disinformation; for example, both strains could be deadly, or their virulence reversed. However, MSM sources have indeed described these two strains of the coronavirus and have been puzzling over this fact, given that the WHO stated there has been no significant mutation.

Warnings against Reading Weaponized Disinformation

My posting of this information does not constitute my belief in this information, nor my desire to spread fear. This 'Pandemic Chats' series is published here to make people aware of the scope of discussion. I do not know whether this is a milestone in the history of real bioweapons in public health or a milestone in the evolution of weaponized online propaganda. Or both.

There are good reasons why you should read this information with extreme caution and discernment. It is possible that the virus is a bioweapon or it may have arisen naturally. Either way, the Chinese government may perceive this outbreak as a bio-weaponized attack.

As such, the coronavirus epidemic might invite Chinese revenge. That retribution may come first in the form of a wave of Internet disinformation warfare, intended to spread panic and violence.

Read this information at your own risk. Treat it as a toxic waste neo-cultural cyber-event. Examine it with the sober reserve of an anthropologist. Coronavirus rumours may be an extreme new type of online propaganda. Do not presume the information is true.

But also understand that if these are real leakers and they are telling the truth to the Internet Underground to relieve their consciences, then the world is now a different place.

I cannot assess the veracity, sources or accuracy of this (dis)information. Some of these fragments and citations refer to legitimate medical publications, which you can read, if you have time. If the rumours are true, you don't have time.

Coronavirus: The Garden of Earthly Delights

This is a surreal moment, not a funny one. Plague humour takes on a Bosch-like quality. Bosch depicted sin as a catalyst for social breakdown in his Garden of Earthly Delights. His famous triptych symbolically portrayed a world letting go. That's the feeling now. Jokes get thrown in with intense news reports and crazy conspiracy theories. There is no clear narrative.

Paranoia and Priorities

Crazy predictions, apparently from 2017 - or if you prefer - crazy disinfo. Click to enlarge. Image Source: 4chan.

The Internet Underground, as I have previously blogged, regards Aaron Swartz (1986-2013) as a Gen Y hero; rightly or not, they believe his death reflects deep corruption at MIT and Harvard. Image Source: 4chan.

As authorities respond to the spread of the coronavirus, public trust dissolves into paranoia. It is hard to trust officials when so many disturbing things were happening prior to this pandemic. Even with the best containment measures, governments and hospitals will not be able to contain the medical tsunami. Failures may be so catastrophic that they will look orchestrated or premeditated, even if they are not.

Combine that disaster with economic failure and restrictions on citizens' movements, communications, and activities, all on a stage set to sweep aside civil rights. An economic Gordian knot could be conveniently cut by means of the pandemic response. At the same time, the public will be immobilized and partly decimated. This is not a nice coincidence.

Even red-pilled and black-pilled anons are surprised. They nursed alienation from the 'normies,' whom they regard as wage slaves, for two decades. Anons' distrust of the establishment is so complete that they regard everything labeled 'good' as 'bad,' and vice versa. Yoichi Shimatsu's quotation above in relation to the late Aaron Swartz is emblematic of these priorities:
"Striking at the nerve center of the military-corporate-pharmaco-porno complex is an ethical duty not a crime, one of the few available means to defend constitutional law."
Anons cannot decide now whether soldiers are being shuttled around countrysides to help them in an eleventh-hour coup against Deep State actors - or if the military are ready to imprison dissenters in quarantine camps.

To some extent, this nervousness extends to the mainstream public, made worse by mixed messages from governments and media and the fact that this nCov crisis reminds everyone of 9/11. Compare a semi-official statement about tanks moving now into London, UK with a citizen's observation. Like 9/11, this pandemic will shape the global landscape for another twenty years. Like 9/11, the devastation will not just be measured in terms of loss of life. Unless there are serious, far-reaching changes to shift things away from the current technocratic drive to control the very thoughts inside our heads, this pandemic will be remembered in terms of a powerful loss of faith in existing politics and society. That trend will probably overturn most systems of authority today, whose leaders assume that they will consolidate power through this crisis, not be flushed away by it.

"Harness Biology as Technology"

The public have good reason to doubt the integrity of the global establishment. Things were hardly ideal before the pandemic began. Below is a screenshot of a 12 November 2015 report in Nature about bat virus research at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. It is one of the reasons anons - and the Chinese government - claim that the coronavirus had a (partially) American source. There are also reports about an explosion at a Russian biolab, known as VECTOR, from September 2019. There is a Harvard connection, and a Canadian connection, to this crisis.

Image Source: Nature via 4chan. Click to enlarge.

The main thing to take away from this speculation is that it is not all paranoia and disinformation. Gain-of-function research was certainly taking place in top level biolabs over the past few years. Chinese scientific publications from Wuhan were full of it. The money was there for it and the Chinese were not restraining their scientists with red tape or regulations. There was an ethical debate about reckless behaviour in this field within the scientific community.

This is before we get to highly questionable genetic experimentation with tools like CRISPR. And it is also before we get to strange innovations in quantum computing, artificial intelligence, biotech, and nanotech, all of which overlap in the worst ways with genetic experiments. It is easy to dismiss lunatic conspiracy theorists who have been rambling for years about vaccines, chemtrails, and retweeting Julian Assange's warnings against smart dust. But they have a point: DARPA has stated that its goal is to "harness biology as technology."

Public fear is justified, because the scientific and tech communities have not restrained themselves. They have not moved forward in careful ways. They have been held back only by the availability of funding and legal jurisdictions. No one appears to have lost sleep over whether certain experiments should even have been attempted. Lines are and were being crossed all over the place. Researchers have been arrogant and deceitful in their practices and this time, the Petri dish blew up in their faces.

At the same time, specialists in the arts and humanities have failed. They normally act as critics to indicate a larger moral context when science, technology and engineering get out of control. Gone are the greats like Jacob Bronowski, who could stand in a human ash pool at Auschwitz and state: "we have to cure ourselves of the itch for absolute knowledge and power." Bronowski warned repeatedly that knowledge must move forward with integrity, and that anyone who did not pair integrity with knowledge would lose the light of true understanding and any power and authority that might accompany that understanding. Only Bronowski could have pleaded for the integrity of science in terms of the Auguries of Innocence by William Blake:
"To see a World in a Grain of Sand
And a Heaven in a Wild Flower
Hold Infinity in the palm of your hand
And Eternity in an hour"
I discussed Bronowski's assessment of physics in the 20th century as an "immortal work" in my 8 April 2011 post, Worlds within Worlds.

The Jacob Bronowskis are gone. The most vocal practitioners in the arts and humanities have become compromised by politicized navel-gazing. Unlike researchers in the sciences, they barely get funded anyway. And when they do, it is for the worst reasons, to bolster Franken-science with Orwellian goodthink. I get the impression that the only permitted 'soft' fields around cutting edge 'hard' scientific research are espionage, finance, politics, and marketing. The classic commentator from the humanities, who once played a crucial role in scientifically- and technologically-advanced societies, has devolved into a controlled environmental activist pawn like Greta Thunberg. At least the pandemic has mercifully forced her off the world stage.

As an individual, I have tried on this blog to meet the moral obligation to society of a person based in the humanities and the arts, by holding up a philosophical mirror to the Millennial march progress. In the past two decades, there are a lot of bloggers and vloggers in the alt-media who have also done this, as well as some trolls and hacktivists.

In order to grasp the myriad of scientific and technological experiments, tests, trials and research groups which were underway at a single point in time, I selected one month as an example. In February 2016, I tried to track down as many science and tech reports as I could in the mainstream English-speaking press or in institutional press releases. I summarized my findings in one post: Science and Tech: Headlines and History in February 2016.

I barely scratched the surface of what was currently being pursued in labs and test facilities in the United States, let alone worldwide. The footage I remember above all was of a Cape Cod warehouse, in which DARPA was repeatedly flying small, very expensive quadcopter drones into cement walls. I had hoped to make this type of post a monthly digest, but there was simply too much information for me to catalogue. It was overwhelming. I reflected on this big picture in the post, The New Millennium's Gothic Moment.

Surreal Reality: The Garden of Earthly Delights

Notice that mainstream reporting on nCov and COVID29 consistently draws attention away from any moral failing on the part of the scientific community. Were researchers playing with fire in Promethean bioweapons projects? Rather than broach these concerns, the MSM fail in their duty, and paper over the cracks. They fixate on pandemic numbers and manage public behaviour. No one is allowed to get to the bottom of preexisting problems which may have lain at the root of what has occurred.

The only reason this comes as a surprise to the public is that we were not paying attention, and we trusted our governments and universities to monitor top level biolabs. That wasn't happening.

As a result of the lies and cover-ups, no one knows what is really going on. We can't get a real grip on this thing. No one is being held accountable. We could even be in the early stages of World War III, and be blind to it. A Canadian anon expressed the Underground's sentiment:
"we can only speculate as to whether coronavirus is a nothing burger or not. if you trust the media, or politicians, or the corrupted scientific establishment you are naive. but you cant totally discredit them either. we can just speculate and guess as to whats going on because everyone everywhere is a lying piece of shit.

should you be worried or not i dunno, flip a coin, 50/50

maybe this is the best possible response, maybe its the worst possible response. feel free to speculate but dont pretend like you know fuck all, you are just a dumb fucking peasant like everyone else and you dont have access to accurate information. who the fuck does?"
This uncertainty creates a surreal atmosphere. No one knows what exactly is happening in this pandemic, how it started, and where it is going. This has led to disillusionment about some leaders, and to jokes and criticism at their expense, which they may or may not deserve. More seriously, it has led to accusations between Chinese and US governments about the origins of the nCov virus.

An American veteran's response to Lijian Zhao on 4chan: "dude when I was in the army there wasnt even enough money to fart outside let alone poison a bunch of bats in wuhan." Where the uncertainty about reality goes, actual reality follows.

Coronavirus in Ultraviolet

Here is a reminder that ultraviolet (UV) light likely kills the nCov virus. It also kills bacteria and other viruses. Research is here (for pathogens in general); here (for SARS Cov not SARS Cov2); and here and here (for flu and superbugs). The amount of time needed to disinfect objects varies by moisture in the air, surface, spectrum of light, strength of exposure, and so on. For nCov, look for UVC on the left hand side of the spectrum above, between 200 and 280 nanometers (nm); 254 nm and 270 nm are the most effective at eliminating bacteria.

It is possible to buy small UV flashlights, light wands, light bulbs and light boxes to disinfect objects like money, credit cards, smartphones, keys, keyboards and toothbrushes - and many other objects. One of the best-known such UVC devices is PhoneSoap, which HuffPo reviewed here. You can buy larger lamp units to disinfect air in rooms, air conditioners and ventilation systems.

For those who are interested, a quick search will bring up many articles about UV lights being used to kill bacteria and viruses in hospitals, buses, lavatories, food production areas, restaurants and basements. Here is a hospital demo with UV light robots. You cannot, however, use these lights to disinfect your skin or pets, nor should you look directly at the light.

New Post at The Dragonfly: Coronavirus, An Offer You Can't Refuse

To follow up on my February 2020 posts, If There Was No More Time and The Coronavirus Consciousness, I am doing a series of posts at my other blog, The Dragonfly, with cryptic testimonies to and about particular people and situations. My theory was that part of prepping is making your peace with your past so that you can confront the present and the future without fear. The first post:

Given the nCov pandemic, there are some things I should say, in case the clock is ticking more quickly than usual. If it isn't, these posts can be taken as some personal statements about themes in my work.

This post also sheds light on a much bigger discussion currently being held on social media about the value of martial law as the coronavirus spreads.

Coronavirus Fragments 10: Male Testicular Damage, Male Infertility, Male Vulnerability

#Wuhan #coronavirus damages men's fertility, shown by China's TongJi Hospital. Human race in danger! (14 March 2020). Video Source: Youtube. See also Bitchute.

On 12 March 2020, a government Website of China's Hubei province noted that nCov - aka SARSCov2 - damages male fertility via ACE2 receptors in the testes. The virus enters human cells through a spike protein and ACE2 receptor enzymes. The report was later removed from the Website; the report was based on observations and initial research by Professor Li Yu-Feng and Yao Yangcheng  at Tongji Hospital and Huazhong University of Science and Technology in Wuhan. The virus can even make men infertile. If this information is correct, it is catastrophic, because some estimates expect 70 per cent of the human race to become infected.

Testicular health before and after suffering the original SARS; COVID19 is a subsequent form of SARS. Image Source.

This is not a flu that 80 per cent of people will barely notice. According to Dr. Yao's and Professor Li's commentary, the testes have more ACE2 receptors than the lungs. This may mean that a man can have the virus and he will experience no more than cold-like symptoms, or even no respiratory symptoms; meanwhile, the virus will have damaged his testes and sperm.

Please share this post with men you know and encourage them to take every possible precaution against infection. The original Chinese scientific report is here and is archived here. Note that this is not a peer-reviewed research article and so it is difficult to say how accurate or generally applicable this information may be. Yao and Li state that this is a hypothesis. The section below was auto-translated from their comment; please translate this material independently and do your own research:
"no research has confirmed whether neocoronavirus infection damages the testes and affects male fertility, neocoronavirus is highly similar to SARS virus, and its infection invading cell receptor is the same, namely ACE2. Although no SARS virus has been detected in the testes, SARS infection can still cause severe immune damage to the testes, cause orchitis, and cause extensive destruction of reproductive-related cells.

Therefore, it is theoretically speculated that new corona infection may cause testicular damage, affecting sperm production and androgen synthesis. Obstructed sperm production will affect male fertility, and severe cases may cause male infertility; androgen deficiency may affect male secondary sexual characteristics and sexual function, and reduce quality of life."
The vlogger, Insider Info, refers below to the virus as 'the particle' and to a 'language lesson' in an effort to evade Youtube's artificial intelligence censors, which are throttling traffic and erasing any independent discussion on this topic. His English translation of the original Chinese commentary is below.

ADDENDUM (21 March 2020): Male deaths are also higher in all age ranges.

ADDENDUM (24 March 2020): Loss of sense of smell can be a symptom of COVID19. Men are much more likely (70% in one sample of 196 patients) than women (30%) to need intensive care for COVID19 infection. Higher Body Mass Index also worsens effects of COVID19. Also, nCov negatively affects male hormones.

Coronavirus Fragments 9: Canadian Updates

University of Saskatchewan announced it has a coronavirus vaccine in testing as of 12 March 2020: "U of S researchers Darryl Falzarano; Robert Brownlie; Volker Gerdts and Qiang Liu are working on a vaccine for a deadly new coronavirus originating from Wuhan province in China." Image Source: Saskatoon Star Phoenix/Liam Richards.

The Canadian government is slowly looking to the WHO, USA and UK for cues on how to respond to the nova coronavirus pandemic. As a result, Canadian officials seem incapable of making decisions on their own. On 12 March 2020, Prime Minister Trudeau began self-isolating procedures after his wife was tested for COVID19 due to fever. She began showing symptoms on the evening of 11 March 2020, after a trip to the UK.

Incidentally, in the UK, PM Boris Johnson's "maverick" solution is to let the virus run freely through the population until the Brits develop herd immunity. The effects of that maverick solution now extend to the Canadian government.

Coronavirus outbreak: Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and wife in self-isolation over COVID-19 concern (12 March 2020). Video Source: Youtube.

In Canada, health care falls under provincial jurisdictions, but travel is a federal jurisdiction. Testing for COVID19 has been restricted only to people with a travel history from recognized major outbreak regions and does not account for areas where there are outbreaks which have been concealed by local governments.

WARNING: If This Happens... Its Game On (4 March 2020). Video Source: Youtube.

Despite the fact that travel history as a testing criterion implies explicit recognition of trouble abroad, the Canadian government has allowed international air travel to continue, with no restrictions. As of 4 March 2020, the government only advised against non-essential travel to China, Italy, Iran, or to practice special precautions in South Korea, and Japan. On 12 March 2020, the federal government refused to bar travelers from any country at national borders. This is incredible folly. The burden of that bad federal travel policy will fall on the provincial health care systems. In the summary below, you will notice again and again the tension between this federal policy on travel and provincial and local officials who are trying to offset the damage caused by that federal policy.

The federal government left the decision to halt flights to individual airlines; of course, these are private companies, which maintained flights as long as possible. Air Canada ran flights to and from Italy until 10 March 2020, before finally suspending them.

With the Canadian PM missing in action and travelers moving around unimpeded, it is up to provinces, municipalities, and individuals to respond to this pandemic. As I noted in previous posts (here and here), I saw my own local Canadian hospital and area south of Ottawa recently taking no precautions, despite my area being the site of the Diamond Princess quarantine.

Canadians have been complacent about self-protection because the government has not informed the public of new Chinese research that you can catch the virus from a distance of 4.5 metres (14.7 feet). At the time of writing this post (3 p.m. Eastern on 12 March 2020), the Canadian government still stated that 2 metres was the recommended isolation distance. They also have not published the fact that nCov can present as a form of conjunctivitis, or a 'pink eye' eye infection.

A Message To Trudeau, To Canada, And To Everyone - Frank Five #27 (12 March 2020). Video Source: Youtube.

Canadian vlogger Frank Vaughan was extremely critical of the shambles federal authorities have created:
"The only protection we have now is the individual. ... The time for preparation is long past. Now all you can do is react."
As cases multiply in Toronto and British Columbia, Ottawa has a case of COVID19 today, a traveler from Austria. In Ontario, see also: Halton Region; Hamilton; Waterloo; Simcoe Muskoka district. On 12 March 2020, Ontario closed all public schools for two weeks. Yet on the same day, the premier Doug Ford encouraged families to travel and enjoy March Break.

In British Columbia, there are 46 official cases with 1 death: North Vancouver and Vancouver Island; 22 cases in the Vancouver Coastal Health region; 22 cases in the Fraser Health region; 1 case in the Interior Health region; 1 in the Island Health region. The 6 March 2020 Pacific Dental Conference in Vancouver had over 14,000 attendees and one of the attendees has tested positive for COVID19.

Alberta Health has a proactive stance; those with symptoms can call 811 and the provincial government will send a tester directly to your home. Many events in Edmonton are canceled. In Edmonton, Misericordia Community Hospital was exposed to a positive COVID19 case on 6-7 March 2020. In Calgary, the business community is still on a learning curve, despite COVID19 cases turning up at businesses. In Red Deer, a well-known doctor is closing his GP practice and there is 1 case in Alberta's Central Health zone.

On 12 March 2020, Saskatchewan triumphantly announced - via its Level 3 bioresearch lab at the University of Saskatchewan - that it has Canada's first coronavirus vaccine in testing. Four firefighters in Saskatoon are in quarantine after coming into contact with a potential COVID19 patient. That patient was likely Saskatchewan's first case, announced in Saskatoon on 12 March 2020; the patient is a traveler from Egypt.

In Manitoba, Winnipeg has a confirmed case, a woman in her 40s who traveled to the Philippines. There is a rumoured COVID19 risk at a fire station: Transcona Fire Paramedic Service Station Number 21 at 1446 Regent Avenue West.

Go to the following links for Quebec. Several Quebec schools - including private schools - will close on 13 March 2020 to prevent the spread of nCov. All gatherings of over 250 people are banned. Sporting events will be held in closed arenas, without fans in attendance; this is a grey area, however, and some sporting events are still being held publicly. Anyone who has traveled abroad is asked to self-quarantine for a fortnight. McGill University confirmed its first COVID19 case on 12 March 2020.

All the maritime provinces will have students returning to school as normal following the March Break. There are no cases listed yet in PEI, Newfoundland and Labrador, or the three territories. Arctic governments have limited health facilities and COVID19 will be a challenge for them.

Nova Scotia has no official cases, but people are skeptical about that; universities, churches and hospitals are taking anti-coronavirus precautions. As in New Brunswick, not all Nova Scotians are registered with a family doctor due to shortages and backlogs. On 10 March 2020, the province opened COVID19 assessment centres; people with symptoms should dial 811. Centre locations are listed here.

New Brunswick declared its first presumptive case on 11 March 2020, and held a press conference on 12 March about its plans. Education Minister Dominic Cardy was criticized by provincial medical officials on 9 March, because he insisted in a memo that anyone who attends or works at a New Brunswick school and who has returned from international travel after 8 March must self-isolate for a fortnight.
