It is time for an intermission. I have called the 2010s a 'decade of disillusionment,' when many of us lost our faith in authoritative realities, due to revelations of corruption, violence, mass manipulation, and exploitation. It is hard to know what to believe as we leave those years behind.

I miss the days before that decade, when I believed in official reality. I miss the days when I thought that Kevin Spacey was just a great actor and Tom Hanks played a nice Boomer Everyman. Now we live in an alternate reality where Spacey kills people with kindness. And Hanks publishes creepy photos of lost gloves and baby shoes, whether they are on streets, parks, or abandoned in the desert. We do not have to look very far before we encounter photos like the one above - freely posted by the celebrities themselves! This is no whistle-blower's work. This is symbolism, rubbed in the faces of the uninitiated mob. But it is so blatant that even the uninitiated know there is something twisted, ugly, and wrong about it.

It's time for a breather from the theatrics in which the mass media, political media, and social media are weaponized against audience populations. It is time to collect ourselves and get our bearings. It is time for an intermission.

Cast around to find signposts, and one instead finds and a redoubled effort at 1990s'-styled social conditioning. That material, mainly profiling celebrities and politicians, persists for those still unawakened enough to think it is real. That old school material is combined with new school disinformation, which purportedly comes from alt sources. But I don't think it does.

For example, in the struggle to stay relevant on social media while exploiting the gruesome post-holiday mood, the Youtube channel Anonymous Official has thrown hacking bulletins out the window, abandoned its dignity, and plunged into madness. Yesterday, it denied all history that has ever been written, claimed that the Roman Empire never existed, and concluded that the Industrial Revolution was a "cover-up." This insane trutherism takes whistle-blowing to such an extreme that it eradicates all facts.

It is anti-rational, anti-logical, and nihilistic. Perhaps this Anon channel never had anything to do with Anonymous, which was once a hacktivist group to be reckoned with, before its leading members were tracked down, arrested and jailed.

Thus, I must assume this Anonymous Official channel is some Google project, which presents alt-media-flavoured videos so that casual viewers will believe that members of the independent media are lunatics who seek to erase history, when it is really Google that is erasing history.

These faux alt-media offerings leave the technocracy free to move in and fill the void with renewed authority. Despite Google's current crackdown on the independent media, the disinformation at Anonymous Official made it past the tech giant's censorship. I can only conclude that that is because Anonymous Official is part of Google's post-censorship disinformation campaign.

Meanwhile, the news cycle is pure surrealism. The incineration of Australia, eradicated Iranian generals; World War III; Epstein photos (!, even a shot with him with a tag on his toe!); presidential impeachments; dimming supergiant stars; fading whistle-blower publishers; Brexit Groundhog years, etc., etc., etc. Due to Google's censorship as of 10 December 2019, the alternative voices who once placed infotainment's surrealism into context are now being silenced. Some vloggers are moving to smaller platforms. Besides offering fake versions of their material, what will Google do to fill the gap they leave behind?

My own moral reeducation as a global citizen started last month, when Youtube changed my recommended videos. Suddenly, my feed became mind-numbing and moronic. My news subscriptions disappeared. Most of the recommended videos consisted of Japanese cats riding Roomba vaccums or chasing drones (perhaps Google's stupid algorithms picked up on my last blog post about drones). Normally, I never watch dumb animal videos.

WTF? What the f*** is this stupid sh**? It's like traveling back in time to the LOLCat-era, while simultaneously having a virtual lobotomy. Perhaps those in charge of censorship at Youtube know that juxtaposing this saccharine fare with the surreal news and the ultra-insane-faux-alternative material makes the world look even crazier.

But thank God, Youtube's recommendations slid from wildlife to mythical wildlife, to list the following report on strange howls in the Canadian wilderness. The original video was filmed and posted on 3 October 2019, near Sioux Lookout, Ontario, Canada. The inconsolable howls of this creature defy algorithms, video virality, technocrats' categorizations, conspiracists' labels, celebrity weirdness, and news cycles. There is another reality out there. It may not be happy. But it is still undefined, mysterious, and free.
